The House Financial Services Subcommittee held a hearing on payments to Iran totaling $1.7 billion, including an initial $400 million cash payment.
That $400 million cash payment was delivered to Iran on the same day four American prisoners were released, causing many to believe that this was a ransom payment.
During the hearing, Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) said that the evidence available makes it difficult to believe that this payment wasn’t ransom.
