The U.S. Capitol Police have increased their security detail for Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), according to a CBS Miami report.
The two-term senator’s office referred media inquiries about the increase in security to the Capitol Police, who noted that they do not comment on how they carry out their protective services.
Rubio, who ran for president in 2016, is one of the more prominent senators on Capitol Hill. According to CBS Miami, the increased security presence began in Washington and now includes local police in Florida.
