Hillary Clinton said that she was waiting for a debate moderator to ask then-candidate Donald Trump to explain what his exact proposals were during one of the 2016 presidential debates. Clinton made the comment during an interview on Tuesday, and the media didn’t take too kindly to her attack.
“You know, I kept waiting for the moment. I’ve watched a million presidential debates in my life, and I was waiting for the moment when one of the people asking the questions would have said, ‘So exactly how are you going to create more jobs?'” Clinton told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour.
“I mean, I thought that, you know, at some moment that would happen,” Clinton said. “And I was ready for that moment.”
Members of the media tweeted their displeasure about Clinton’s claim.
CNN’s Chris Cillizza tweeted,” Hillary attacking the media is totally misguided: We asked Trump for specifics on his plans over and over again.”
Other reporters weren’t too happy with Clinton’s comments either, taking to Twitter to express their displeasure.
Clinton gripes debate moderators never asked her or Trump about *how* they would create more jobs.
