Sen. John Kennedy’s joke during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing had everyone laughing.
During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Justice Department nominations, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) joked about President Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey.
The hearing was very contentious as Senate Democrats used it as a forum to blast President Trump and call for a special prosecutor to be appointed to the investigation regarding possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Kennedy’s remarks came towards the conclusion of the hearing.
“I’m very impressed with you resumes,” Kennedy told the nominees. “I just casually mention that there’s an opening at FBI if you all are interested there.”
At this joke, the hearing room erupted into laughter.
