On MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” the Huffington Post’s Sam Stein discussed what President Obama’s political legacy would be.
On Monday, Obama told David Axelrod that he thought he could have won a third term if not prevented by the Constitution, Obama’s comments were seen as more of a dig against Hillary Clinton than Donald Trump.
“You have to say, okay, the Democrats maybe overanalyzing the loss a tiny bit, because they did end up with 2.8 million more votes for their candidate,” Stein told the panel.
However Stein went on to say, “On the other hand, you look at the destruction of the Democratic Party under Barack Obama’s leadership, and you have to wonder, you know, what was the political – what were the electoral benefits that he gave to the party?”
“He [Obama] leaves them in a much worse position. The states are decimated. They’ve lost control of the House and Senate. The governorships are decimated,” Stein concluded.
