Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Thursday to discuss how the Democratic Party can rebuild after its stunning defeat in November.
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough asked Sanders if the Democratic Party has failed to properly organize over the past 4 to 8 years, resulting in Republican gains across the electoral spectrum.
“Joe, I think the short answer is Y-E-S, absolutely,” Sanders said emphatically. “The Democrats, you know, and we understand why, but there is a tremendous preoccupation with raising money, and there has been a turning away from the communities and the grassroots of this country.”
