‘You’re practically crying!’
On Thursday, following the final presidential debate, The Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe to discuss the presidential race and how the GOP got to this point.
Kristol sarcastically told Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough that “[t]his show was really tough on Trump in late 2015 and early 2016.” Kristol then asked: “are you gonna pretend that?”
Kristol’s comments set off a heated exchange between Scarborough and Kristol.
“Please don’t come on my air and lie,” Scarborough shouted at Kristol.
Scarborough went on to accuse Kristol of being bitter. “I can’t even believe you’re doing this. I don’t know why you’re so bitter.”
“I’m not bitter,” Kristol retorted.
“You’re practically crying! You’re practically crying,” Scarborough interjected.
Kristol responded that he thought Scarborough found it “amusing that Donald Trump is the nominee.”
The heated exchange lasted for several minutes before Scarborough ended it by showing clips from the debate.
