On Tuesday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) appeared on MSNBC to discuss working with the Trump administration. MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow asked Schumer about confirming a Trump supreme court nominee, something many liberals view as a stolen nomination.
Schumer agreed that Republicans stole the Supreme Court nomination away from Obama.
Maddow asked Schumer if there were any consequences for Republicans’ action.
“The consequences are going to be down the road,” Schumer told Maddow. “We are not going to make it easy for them to pick a Supreme Court justice.”
Maddow asked Schumer if Democrats would do their best to hold the seat open.
“Absolutely,” Schumer responded empathically.
