During the confirmation hearing for Donald Trump’s EPA nominee, Scott Pruitt, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) attempted to catch Pruitt in a ‘gotcha’ moment and failed miserably.
“Can you name few instances in which you have filed a lawsuit in your independent capacity as attorney general against the corporate entity for violating state or federal pollution laws?” Harris asked.
Pruitt took several seconds to find the list of companies that he had filed a lawsuit against while Attorney General. During this, Harris was rather impatient demanding names.
Pruitt cited a Mahard Egg Farm case.
Harris asked if Pruitt filed a lawsuit in that case.
“I did, senator,” Pruitt responded.
