Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) gave a speech on the Senate floor on Wednesday regarding U.S.-Russia relations, specifically Russia’s involvement in the 2016 presidential election.
“Recently we’ve had allegations, and I underline the word allegations, of other involvement of the Russians with the Trump campaign and the preparation of certain documents, which have not been collaborated as of this date,” Durbin said in his speech.
Durbin went on to say, “They may lead to nothing, but they certainly deserve investigation.”
Most members of the media have bashed BuzzFeed’s decision to release a memo that’s authenticity has not been verified. Key facts of the memo have already been dissproven since its public release less than 24 hours ago.
