“Kind of a sensitive topic, so probably not,” Shaheen told CNN’s Dana Bash in an interview.
Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) claimed that she was a direct descendant of Pocahontas and has the documentation to prove it, but she doesn’t talk about her famous ancestor with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), calming it’s “kind of a sensitive topic” during an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash.
Warren famously and falsely claimed in the past to be of Native American descent, something that President Trump latched onto during the 2016 presidential campaign, often referring to Warren as “Pocahontas.”
Bash asked Shaheen if she had told Warren about her famous ancestor.
“It’s kind of a sensitive topic, so probably not,” Shaheen said.
