The group, Refuse Fascism, also directly attacked Nancy Pelosi for opposing Antifa, which has been accused of engaging in “domestic terrorist violence.”
Refuse Fascism, a group that is linked to liberal billionaire donor George Soros, issued a statement of support on Saturday for Antifa and said that Democrats who oppose Antifa are abetting the “fascism” of the Trump administration.
The statement, titled, “Shameful, Dangerous, Wrong Attacks on Antifa,” directly attacked House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi in its statement:
“Since then, the media has reported that the Department of Homeland Security has classified Antifa’s activities as “domestic terrorist violence.” Nancy Pelosi has called for the arrest and prosecution of members of Antifa. The mayor of Berkeley has called for them to be classified as a “gang.” And some voices of the so-called “progressive left” have joined in condemning and distancing from Antifa.”
The FBI and Department of Homeland Security said that Antifa was engaging in “domestic terrorist violence, ” in early September.
But Refuse Fascism;s statement claims any effort to stop Antifa is somehow complicit in supporting fascism:
“To stand against injustice at this moment requires firmly understanding that the attacks against “Antifa” are designed to intimidate, suppress, and divide all opposition to fascism. The threats and attacks on Antifa and anyone else standing up against fascism, especially attempts by the state to brand them as “terrorist” or put them on watchlists, must be opposed. “
The Daily Caller’s Chuck Ross reported in February on how Soros is financially linked to Refuse Fascism.
Should Pelosi and other members of the Democratic establishment worry that Soros is standing behind a group that has been accused of engaging in “domestic terrorist violence?”
