Ryan tells ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that House Republicans are keeping their promises to the American people.
Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) appeared on ABC’s This Week and told George Stephanopoulos that he isn’t worried about Republicans losing their House majority in 2018, telling Stephanopoulos that Republicans are keeping their promises to the American people.
Stephanopoulos asked Ryan about the Cook Political Report, which shifted 20 seats away from Republicans following their vote to repeal Obamacare, and whether Ryan is worried about a 2018 midterm wave that would see Democrats retake the House.
Ryan told Stephanopoulos that he is not concerned about a possible 2018 midterm wave.
“The system is failing, we’re stepping in front of it and rescuing people from a collapsed system, and more importantly, we’re keeping our word. That’s really important here,” Ryan went on to tell Stephanopoulos.
Ryan concluded by saying he thinks it would have been worse for Republicans if they did not repeal Obamacare.
