Billionaire environmentalist and Democratic donor Tom Steyer isn’t ruling out a run against Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) in 2018, according to reports.
In recent weeks Feinstein has faced increased pressure from progressive activists who think the Senator is out of touch and are calling for a progressive candidate to challenge in the incumbent Senator in 2018.

However, Steyer attempted to walk back these remarks according to the Los Angeles Times:
Steyer quickly added that he hates answering speculative questions such as the one posed to him because there’s always a chance it might “bite you in the rear end.”
“I’d rather come out with what I do want to do as opposed to eliminating all the things I don’t want to do,” he told Adler.
Steyer had previously contemplated running for governor of California in 2018.
