Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) announced her support for Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court on the Senate floor Tuesday, calling the Judge “eminently well qualified.”
“While I have not agreed with every decision Judge Gorsuch has made, my conclusion is that he is eminently well qualified to serve on our nation’s highest court,” Collins said.
Collins praised his “sterling academic and legal credentials” and pointed to his unanimous confirmation to the U.S. Court of Appeals.
Collins then read out praise offered to Gorsuch by various organizaitons.
A moderate Republican, Collins’ support for Gorsuch shows a solidifcation of support for President Trump’s nominee among the GOP.
