President Trump and Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) had nothing but smiles on Thursday as they announced the Republicans’ tax reform plan. The deal would give American middle-class families of four a $1,182 tax cut–what President Trump says will be “a big beautiful Christmas present.”

The holiday-spirited president even kissed a mock-up of an index card-sized form that House Republicans claim will be all that’s needed to file their taxes.

According to The Hill, the Republicans’ rollout “got a smooth lift off” and is now moving on to facing inevitable hurdles.

Conservative strategist Greg Mueller told The Hill, “the prospects are very good. It may be messy for a while, at first, but I think by the end of the year we will have a Christmas bonus for the American people.”

Despite the Democratic Party’s typical objections, some of which have already been debunked, Republicans can be optimistic about receiving popular support for their plan as evidenced by a recent poll, reported earlier by NTK.
