Billionaire Tom Steyer, a well-known Hillary Clinton supporter, appeared on MSNBC’s The Last Word, to discuss a $55 million program that is attempting to do 8 million door knocks, focusing on more than 2 million sporadic voters.
During, the interview Steyer was forced to admit, however, that he is really the only person funding his super PAC, NextGen Climate.
“The [door knocking] program is $55 million, so, my organization, which is not just me, but which is largely me is $20 million to that $55 million.”
Steyer has spent $22 million on NextGen Climate in the first six moths of 2016 alone. Much of NextGen Climate’s work has been focused on promoting Styer, which has caused speculation that he intends to run for governor of California in 2018.
