The president said that he wished to refocus the country on improving the economy and security.
President Trump said that he respects Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s appointment of a special counsel to look into Russian interference in the 2016 election at a press conference on Thursday.
“I respect the move,” Trump said of the appointment. “But the entire thing has been a witch hunt and there is no collusion.”
Trump said that the continuing narrative divides the country, and he would like to return to his legislative agenda.
The president touted military success in the Middle East and economic success at home.
“That’s what I want to be focused on,” Trump said. “My total priority, believe me, is the United States.”
