President Trump, at a meeting with cybersecurity experts Tuesday, said, “The Democratic National Committee was hacked successfully, very successfully. And terribly, frankly.”
Conversely, Trump pointed out that hackers did not successfully penetrate the Republican National Committee’s secure data, despite the “hundreds and hundreds of millions more money” that the Democrats spent.
The cyber-security experts attended the meeting to help Trump lay out a plan to ensure U.S. cybersecurity.
“Today I’m convening this meeting to follow through on my promise to secure crucial infrastructure and the networks that we’ve been talking so much about over the last period of time, of the federal government against cyberthreats,” Trump said.
