The president called for nations to work together to achieve peace.
President Trump said that the Middle East faces a “rare opportunity” for peace in the region while speaking at his landing in Tel Aviv on Monday.
“We have before us a rare opportunity to bring security and stability and peace to this region and to its people, defeating terrorism and creating a future of harmony, prosperity, and peace,” Trump said.
“We can only get there working together. There is no other way,” he continued.
Trump reminded the Israeli leaders in attendance of America’s love for and commitment to the country.
The president took a more diplomatic tone on Muslim countries in a speech in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, perhaps foreshadowing a Middle Eastern peace effort.
