Donald Trump appeared to admit using the tax code to avoid paying federal income taxes in certain years.
Moderator Anderson Cooper brought up the issue of taxes midway through the second presidential debate. He asked Donald Trump if he had used the tax code to avoid paying federal income taxes (as reported by The New York Times a few weeks ago).
Trump responded to the question saying, “[o]f course I do. Of course I do.” Did Trump admit to not paying federal income taxes? Reporters on Twitter appear to be split:
.@andersoncooper asks Trump if he uses his almost $1 billion loss to avoid federal taxes. "Of course I do. Of course I do," he responds.
