As he signed an executive order enhancing U.S. energy independence Tuesday, President Trump turned to a coal miner and said, “You know what this says, right? You’re going back to work.”
Surrounded by coal miners and prominent members of his administration, Trump promised that the United States was “going to see a lot of progress” when it came to energy.
The order tore up Obama-era orders known as the Clean Power Plan. According to CBS News, Trump directed “the EPA to suspend, revise, or rescind the Clean Power Plan.”
Trump promised on the campaign trail to boost domestic energy jobs and his order Tuesday represented another step toward that goal.
