Asked about his wiretapping claims at a press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Friday, President Trump pointed to Merkel and said, “At least we have something in common, perhaps.”
Trump previously claimed in a tweet that then-President Obama had wiretapped his phones.

While public evidence has been nonexistent, the White House has stood by investigations into the allegations.
Obama approved surveillance of Merkel’s communications starting in 2010.
The German reporter also asked Trump if he ever regretted sending a tweet, to which Trump replied, “very seldom.”
“We have a tremendous group of people that listen, and I can get around the media when the media doesn’t tell the truth, so I like that,” Trump said of Twitter.
