President Trump at a listening session on veterans’ affairs, praised his new Secretary of Veterans Affairs David Shulkin and promised veterans, “We will protect those who protect us.”
“I’ve been saying that a lot over the past two years at rallies and speeches,” Trump said. “I think the veterans have not been treated fairly.”
Trump offered praise for the team at the VA, saying to Shulkin, “You’ve got the most talented people I’ve ever seen working with you.”
“No more games are going to played at the VA.”
In Trump’s first proposed budget, the Department of Veterans Affairs would see a 4.4 percent increase in funding.
