It’s not a joke…the president of the United States, country star Toby Keith, and “an Arabian lute player” will be in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this weekend.
Toby Keith, Donald Trump, and an Arabian lute player will be in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the same time this weekend, according to media reports.
The Associated Press (AP) said Keith will be performing “in an event that coincides with President Donald Trump’s first overseas visit.”
The concert’s event page says its a “men only” event with a “formal” dress code, and that tickets are already sold out.
AP noted the irony of Keith, a country star who often sings about beer, performing in a country where “alcohol is banned.”
Three of Keith’s top 10 songs on Spotify – “Beer For My Horses,” “Red Solo Cup,” and “I Love This Bar” – are about drinking. What’s more, the most popular song off of Keith’s latest album, from 2015, is called “Drunk Americans.”
The AP also noted an Arabian lute player will join Keith at the concert.
