President Trump told Fox Business Network in an interview Wednesday that he told Chinese President Xi Jinping about the missile strikes in Syria over the “most beautiful piece of chocolate cake.”
Interviewer Maria Bartiromo asked Trump how he launched missiles at the same time he ate dinner with Xi.
“You have no idea how many people want to hear the answer to this,” Trump said, smiling. “I have watched speculation for three days now on what that was like.”
“I was sitting at the table. We had finished dinner. We’re now having dessert, and we had the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake that you’ve ever seen,” Trump said, setting the scene. “President Xi was enjoying it.”
Military leaders then informed Trump that the strike was prepared and was awaiting his green light.
“I said, ‘Mr. President, let me explain something to you’ – this is during dessert,” Trump said. “We’ve just fired 59 missiles, all of which hit by the way.”
Trump added that U.S. military technology is superior to any other country’s technology “by a factor of five.”
