Trump urged Florida’s governor to challenge Bill Nelson in 2018.
President Trump, speaking at an event regarding U.S.-Cuba policy in Florida on Friday, urged Governor Rick Scott to run for Senate in 2018.
Saying Scott is “doing a great job,” Trump asked the governor to run against Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) in 2018.
“I hope he runs for the Senate. I know I’m not supposed to say that,” Trump said.
“Rick are you running?” he asked, turning to the governor. “Huh?” Trump said, raising his eyebrows.
“Marco,” Trump said as he pointed to the Florida senator, “we got to get him.”
