White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer told reporters that it is still President Trump’s intention for every American to have insurance.
“I think the president’s goal is to provide insurance, to make insurance available, to everybody, yes,” Spicer told reporters during the daily White House press briefing.
“That is what [President Trump] intends to do. I think that is the goal of this. [It] is to make sure every American has the choice and a plan that they can afford and that they have the choice to buy, and that’s not what they have now.”
Spicer’s claim comes after the Congressional Budget Office released a report, which claims 14 million people will no longer have insurance under the American Health Care Act (AHCA) by 2018.
