On Monday, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters during the daily press briefing that the White House would not defend or criticize FBI Director James Comey’s decision to reopen the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton.
“The president believes that Director Comey is a man of integrity, he’s a man of principle, and he’s a man of good character,” Earnest told reporters.
Senior members of Hillary Clinton’s campaign spent much of the weekend bashing Director Comey on the very points the White House praised Comey on.
