White House Doesn’t Think President Obama Needs To Apologize For Obamacare

Confronted by reporters with House Majority Whip Steve Scalise’s (R-LA) declaration that President Obama should apologize for lying about Americans’ ability to retain their health insurance under the Obamacare, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said that President Obama is “enormously proud” of his record on health care. Earnest refused to say if the President had anything for which he should apologize regarding Obamacare.

Earlier Wednesday, after meeting with Vice President-elect Mike Pence, Rep. Scalise called on President Obama to apologize for his now-infamous lie: “If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan.” Congressional Republicans met today to plot a course to repeal the 2010 health care law.

“That’s what he came into office promising to do,” Earnest said of the President’s health care reforms.
