White House Stands By Meryl: Streep Delivered A ‘Thoughtful’ Message At The Golden Globes

A reporter asked White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest asked about Meryl Streep’s controversial Golden Globes speech at Monday’s briefing.

The reporter pointed out how President Obama had awarded Streep the Presidential Medal of Freedom, during which Obama said he “loved” Streep.

Earnest told the reporter that he had not talked with Obama about Streep’s speech, but did say he thought it was a “thoughtful and carefully considered messages that she believes in deeply.”
