111 Days Before The 2018 Elections, House Democrats Change Their Campaign Slogan

The House Democrats have changed their 2018 campaign slogan from “A Better Deal” to “For the People,” with just 111 days until Election Day, according to Politico.

Last July, House Democrats unveiled “A Better Deal,” which was roundly mocked for sounding like Papa John’s pizza slogan, “Better Ingredients, Better Pizza.”

Now with just 111 days till the pivotal 2018 midterm elections, House Democrats are changing course again and announcing their new slogan, “For the People,” to members at a private meeting on Wednesday.

Politico reported:

“House Democrats have finalized their campaign slogan heading into the last months before the midterm election: “For the People.”

“The new motto, which Democratic leaders unveiled in a private meeting with members Wednesday morning, is meant to put a finer point on the broad economic-based messaging Democrats have been pushing with mixed success since last summer. That initial message — a “Better Deal” — has largely failed to break through with voters and has been openly mocked by some Democratic lawmakers.”

The decision to change course just a few months before the midterms further highlights Democrats’ desperate search for effective messaging following Hillary Clinton’s stunning 2016 defeat.
