A growing list of Democratic presidential hopefuls have decided to skip the 2019 AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington, D.C., yielding to pressure from the liberal outside group MoveOn despite some having previously attended the conference.

Earlier this week, MoveOn called on Democratic presidential hopefuls to not attend this year’s AIPAC conference, “citing its links to the right-wing government of Benjamin Netanyahu and charging that AIPAC has flirted with Islamophobia,” according to Politico.

So far, the list of 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls who are not attending the AIPAC policy conference include Senators Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Kamala Harris (D-CA), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX), South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and former HUD Secretary Julián Castro.

“AIPAC declined to comment on the 2020 candidates but noted that presidential candidates have attended the conference in the past,” the Associated Press reported on Thursday.

Both Warren and Harris have attended the conference in the past, with Harris having spoken at the conference in 2017, praising AIPAC during her speech.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), who has not yet announced whether she will be attending this year’s conference, also has addressed the group’s annual conference in the past.
