Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), a possible 2020 presidential candidate, walked out the Senate Judiciary Committee’s on Friday after refusing to vote on matters related to the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Following a roll call vote, Harris stormed out of the committee room. She refused to cast a vote on a matter related to Kavanaugh’s nomination before she left.

Harris’s protest came one day after the Judiciary Committee heard from Kavanaugh and Dr. Christine Blasey Ford about allegations that Kavanaugh attempted to sexually assault Ford at a high school party in the 1980s.

Harris wasn’t alone when she left the committee room. Sens. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Mazie Hirono (D-HI) joined her.

Harris later tweeted an explanation for why she stormed out of the committee room. Harris, Hirono, and Blumenthal held a press conference while the rest of the committee continued the hearing.
