Another Poll Shows Democrats Don’t Care About the Accusations Against Biden

A new Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday showed that the vast majority of California Democratic primary voters don’t care about the allegations of inappropriate touching that several women have made against former Vice President Joe Biden.

The poll found that 66 percent of all California voters said that the accusations against Biden were “not serious,” with “67 percent of women and 71 percent of Democrats” also agreeing that the accusations were “not serious.”

This follows a Morning Consult poll from Tuesday, which showed that despite the allegations against Biden, his support among Democratic primary voters remained unchanged.

The Quinnipiac poll also showed Biden, who has not formally announced whether he is running for president, leading the Democratic primary field with 26 percent of California Democrats supporting Biden’s 2020 bid.

Biden was followed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) with 18 percent. Coming in third was California’s junior senator, Kamala Harris, who received 17 percent.

The California Democratic primary is of significant importance in 2020, as it has moved up in the primary calendar, with early voting starting the same day as the Iowa caucus.
