Political activist Linda Sarsour said told anti-Kavanaugh protestors that some of them would be engaging in a “historic,” “direct-action” protest Thursday afternoon against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

Sarsour was explaining her plan to protestors gathered outside the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit before they marched to the Supreme Court.

“After we march to the Supreme Court, there will be a program to hear from some powerful people,” Sarsour said. “Then we are going to engage in a direct action. Many of you have been trained in this direct action. You know who you are. We are fired up and excited.”

“Many of you, who will not engage if you do not want to engage in this direct action, will bear witness to another iconic and historic moment of Americans who are willing to do just a little bit more,” Sarsour added.

Earlier in her speech, Sarsour had stressed the importance that protestors remain nonviolent.

Forms of non-violent, direct-action protests include sit-ins, strikes, and workplace occupations.

It’s not yet clear what Sarsour is suggesting protestors do Thursday afternoon.
