A planned white nationalist rally in Washington, D.C. languished with low attendance on Sunday, and the hundreds of counter-protesters found a new target in the streets of the nation’s capital: journalists and law enforcement.

During the sparsely populated DC ‘Unite the Right’ rally, Antifa-affiliated activists went after reporters trying to cover their repudiation of white nationalism.

In one incident, they confronted a camera crew from a local ABC outlet. One Antifa protester cut the cord on the crew’s camera to stop them from filming.

Protesters also mobbed police officers, throwing things at them, screaming at them, and trying to hit them with their flags. The video was taken by USA Today’s Christal Hayes.

In another video, a white protesters screams at a diverse group of police, accusing them of belonging to the KKK and being fascists.

The violence toward law enforcement and journalists seems to have started on Saturday evening, when protesters took to the streets of Charlottesville to mark the deadly anniversary of the 2017 Charlottesville riots.

In a series of videos from NBC’s Cal Perry, Antifa members pushed NBC’s camera around, screaming, “F*ck you, snitch ass b*tch news.”

And another video from Charlottesville-area reporter Allison Wrabel showed protesters attacking police officers as the demonstration turned violent.
