Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who has been called the future of the Democratic Party, said that she is not ready to endorse any of the 20-plus candidates seeking the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination during a visit to Brookline, Massachusetts over the weekend.

Ocasio-Cortez was in Brookline “to support a select board candidate,” according to the Boston Herald, which reported that Ocasio-Cortez has her eye on a couple 2020 hopefuls, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

When asked what she was looking for in a candidate, Ocasio-Cortez said she was looking for someone who supported “transformative policy for working class Americans.”

“I’m extremely excited by the policies and the policy leadership, the plan leadership, that‘s been advanced by Sen. Warren. Of course I worked on Sen. Sanders’ campaign, and I find his values to be my values, too,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

Ocasio-Cortez also praised Gov. Jay Inslee (D-WA) for his leadership on climate change, which Ocasio-Cortez called “phenomenal” and Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) for his leadership on criminal justice reform.

“I don’t want to endorse there right now,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “I do want to endorse in local races, because this is how we’re going to rebuild our country from the bottom up.”
