Apple announced that it removed conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’s “InfoWars” podcast from its platform on Monday, saying in a statement that they do not “tolerate hate speech” on their platforms.

BuzzFeed News reported:

“Apple moved first, striking the entire library for five of Infowars’ six podcasts from its iTunes and Podcasts apps. Among the podcasts, which were removed from Apple’s iTunes directory, are the show War Room and the popular Alex Jones Show podcast, which is hosted daily by the prominent conspiracy theorist.”

“Apple does not tolerate hate speech, and we have clear guidelines that creators and developers must follow to ensure we provide a safe environment for all of our users,” a spokesperson for Apple said in a statement on Monday.

However, consumers can still download the Nation of Islam (NOI) app in the Apple store, despite the group’s “deeply racist, antisemitic and anti-LGBT rhetoric,” according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which has classified NOI as a hate group.

From the Apple app store:

The official Nation of Islam app features live and on-demand programs and events including inspirational and insightful messages from the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and Nation of Islam Student Ministers.

Stay up to date on news and events related to the Nation of Islam including announcements, statements, briefs, conference news and more.

On the NOI app, one can find dozens of webcasts featuring Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, an infamous hatemonger and anti-Semite.

In the past, Farrakhan has called the Jewish people his “enemy,” “satanic,” and claimed the Jewish people are responsible for “filth and degenerate behavior,” while also praising Adolf Hitler as a “very great man.

So, if it’s true that Apple “does not tolerate hate speech” on their platforms, then when will the company remove groups like NOI from its platform?
