Apple CEO Tim Cook openly mocked the Trump administration on Tuesday night when Cook accepted the Free Expression Award at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

Much of Cook’s speech discussed the importance of freedom of speech, but he also took a swipe at the idea of “alternative facts.”

According to 9to5Mac:

Cook also seemingly took a swipe at the Trump Administration’s idea of “alternative facts,” something first set forth by U.S. Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway. “We must be open to alternative points of view, not alternative facts,” Cook said.

The Trump administration took heavy criticism for the “alternative facts” line and is eager to move past it, but Cook’s antagonistic remarks are keeping it alive.

Apple has found itself opposing the new administration more often than not in recent months.

In February, Apple released a statement, “criticizing the Trump Administration for pulling back on Obama-era guidance to schools on transgender rights.”

The tech giant also joined 95 other companies in opposition to Trump’s travel ban.
