Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), in an appearance on “Meet the Press” on Sunday, stood by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in rejecting calls for President Trump’s immediate impeachment.

NBC’s Chuck Todd asked Sanders if talk of impeachment was “jumping the gun.”

“I do [agree with Pelosi],” the senator said. “I think you allow the investigation to go where it goes.”

“You can’t jump the gun and determine that somebody should be impeached when you’re going to be voting on the impeachment issue,” he added, saying however that Americans should resist any efforts to undermine the Mueller investigation.

“It’s too early to talk about impeachment,” Sanders concluded.

Pelosi has faced fire from her left flank in Congress, with much of the far left pushing the impeachment of the president for trivial issues.
