Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX), the challenger to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) this fall, voted ‘no’ on a Congressional resolution to support the men and women of ICE. Only 18 Democrats voted for the measure.

According to Roll Call, the resolution “rejects calls to completely abolish the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.”

With 34 Democrats voting against the measure, most refused to cast a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ votes. O’Rourke was among the ‘no’s.’

The Democratic representative is trying to unseat Cruz in deep red Texas, but his Wednesday vote won’t help that campaign. He also called for President Trump’s impeachment earlier this week.

The “Abolish ICE” movement gained traction in recent weeks with the victory of far-left Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in a New York congressional primary.
