Former Vice President Joe Biden, the current Democratic Party’s frontrunner for the presidential nomination, is not the preferred candidate among the party’s most liberal members.

That honor goes to Sen. Elizabeth Warren, according to a new straw poll conducted by MoveOn.org. Among members of the far-left liberal group, 37.8 percent said they preferred Warren be the party’s nominee. Warren also leads among members in important individual states such as Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and California, per the survey.

Sen. Bernie Sanders came in second place but was more than 20 points behind Warren at 16.5 percent.

That Sanders would do well in the progressive group’s poll is no surprise: MoveOn backed him over then-rival Hillary Clinton in 2016’s Democratic primary, and a majority of MoveOn members at the time said they preferred him to the former secretary of state. But that progressives are gravitating toward like-minded policy wonk Warren could be another sign of trouble for Sanders, who has been overtaken by the Massachusetts senator in some recent polls.

Biden, who has led virtually every national poll since before he entered the race in April, came in third place with just 14.9 percent. South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg was the only other candidate to break the 10-percent mark with 11.7 percent.

He’s followed by Sen. Kamala Harris  at 6.8 percent, undecided at 2.2 percent, and former Rep. Beto O’Rourke at 1.8 percent.
