Former President Bill Clinton didn’t answer a reporter’s question about Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s (D-NY) remarks that Clinton should have resigned after his inappropriate relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky on Monday.

Last week Gillibrand told The New York Times that Bill Clinton should have resigned from the presidency after the Lewinsky allegations against him went public.

MSNBC’s Kasie Hunt asked MSNBC’s Tammy Leitner whether she asked Clinton about Gillibrand’s comments while following Clinton around Puerto Rico on Monday.

“I did, Kasie. I asked him about the Senator’s recent comments. And he looked at me, kind of half smirked, and kept going. He wanted nothing to do with that, so he didn’t give us answer,” Leitner reported.

“Can’t imagine why,” Hunt responded.
