Bloomberg: I Would Sell My Company If I Decide to Run for President in 2020

Former New York City Mayor and billionaire businessman Michael Bloomberg (D-NY), who is rumored to be considering running for president in 2020, said that he would sell his company if he decided to run for president during an interview with Radio Iowa on Wednesday.

“I think at my age, if selling it is possible, I would do that,” Bloomberg said. “At some point, you’re going to die anyway, so you want to do it before then.”

Business Insider reported that Bloomberg said he would also consider putting his company “in a blind trust, but that at his age, 76, it makes more sense to sell it, according to an interview he gave to Radio Iowa.”

Bloomberg holds an estimated 88 percent of the company Bloomberg LP’s equity, which is a financial, software, data, and media company.

In 2018, Forbes evaluated that Bloomberg LP was worth $54 billion.
