Sen. Cory Booker said that he was very interested in investigating the firing of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe during an interview on Monday.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced on Friday that McCabe had been fired just 26 hours before McCabe’s formal retirement.

“Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI – A great day for Democracy,” President Trump tweeted.

“The View’s” Sunny Hostin asked Booker what he thought about Trump’s tweet.

“The way Donald Trump is going about this, it does not reflect well on him, on the presidency, and our values as a country,” Booker said.

Hostin followed up by asking Booker if he would be interested in investigating McCabe’s firing.

“I am very interested in investigating it. And something I am going to try to do is to use my office to hold the president accountable,” Booker said.
