James Pindell, a political reporter for The Boston Globe, said on MSNBC Monday that conventional wisdom pointed to a loss by Democrat John Ossoff in the Georgia Sixth Congressional District Special Election.

“The conventional wisdom says three things,” Pindell began.

“One, Ossoff is not likely to get 50 percent. Number two, if that happens, he’s going to go to a runoff. He will likely not win. And third, that is going to be a huge punch in the gut for Democrats, who have been very excited for months over this seat.”

Pindell added, however, that accurate polling and predictions were difficult in the confines of a special election.

National Democrats have pulled out all the stops, including out-of-state volunteers, and millions of out-of-district dollars in an attempt to drag Ossoff over the finish line.
