Several representatives of Pennsylvania industry urged Sens. Pat Toomey (R-PA) and Bob Casey (D-PA) to support the Senate’s tax reform bill, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, in a letter in the Philadelphia Business Journal on Wednesday.

Gene Barr of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, Kevin Shivers of the National Federation of Independent Business, and David Taylor of the Pennsylvania Manufacturers Association penned the advocacy message in the Journal, saying the plan made them “excited” for the future.

The letter touted the investment climate that the GOP plan would create, leading to more jobs and production in Pennsylvania:

The pro-growth incentives in the bill are many: full expensing of new equipment and machines, reduction in tax rates for pass-through businesses, and a globally competitive tax rate on corporations that is made permanent so more investment occurs in America and not overseas. Together, these modifications will encourage small, mid-sized, and large Pennsylvania companies to invest in their factories, expand their domestic operations, and hire more workers.

Toomey has been instrumental in crafting the tax reform proposal, but Casey has been critical of the plan.

Casey is up for reelection in 2018 in a state that President Trump won.
