Chuck Schumer Dodges on Whether a Sitting President Can Be Indicted

Senate Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) dodged a reporter’s question about whether a sitting president could be indicted during a press conference on Wednesday.

A reporter asked Schumer who had just met with President Trump’s attorney general nominee Bill Barr whether Barr should change Department of Justice guidelines so a sitting president could be indicted and if he thought a sitting president could be indicted.

“Well, that’s a very difficult question that there are many answers to. That was not dispositive in my continued opposition to him,” Schumer said.

The reporter attempted to follow up with whether Schumer thought a sitting president could be indicted, but Schumer did not acknowledge the question pointing to another reporter instead.
