CNN Commentator Rolls Eyes At Trump Supporter’s Minority, Disabled Son

CNN's Angela Rye has a history of wacky statements, but her actions on the network Wednesday night were particularly reprehensible.

Angela Rye, a CNN commentator and frequent guest on the network, rolled her eyes when a Trump supporter described her experience raising a minority child with Down Syndrome.

Rye first slammed the Trump White House for not including a person of color in a senior position. She singled out Dr. Ben Carson, who serves as HUD secretary in the Cabinet, claiming that he didn’t count. “This whole administration is nonsense, just like your talking points,” she said to Dr. Gina Loudon.

“Angela, I understand your feelings on this,” Loudon responded.

Rye immediately shot back, “No, you don’t.”

The Trump supporter then described her experience raising an adopted minority, disabled child, which prompted Rye to scoff and roll her eyes.

“[My son] experiences bigotry every single day in a myriad of ways, not just because of his skin color, but also because of his disability,” Loudon explained. “I would not support a president that I believed was going to be a threat to his future.”

“But you are,” Rye interrupted, adding that she agreed with Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) that America “has never been great,” which she blamed on people like Loudon. “You ought to be completely ashamed of yourself,” she added.
